Can I cancel my tour or change my tour date?

Yes, you can cancel or amend your tour to a different date (subject to availability) if you notify us 24 hours or more prior to travel.
If you need to cancel or change dates within 24 hours of travel a 100% cancellation fee applies
Please note a ‘no show’ (where passengers do not turn up to the specified pick-up point or departure point without notification) automatically incurs a 100% cancellation fee.

Do you ever cancel?

On very rare occasions, tours can be subject to the effect of weather or unforeseen circumstances. If a tour does not operate for any reason, passengers will be offered a full refund or an alternative day of travel.

What do I need to bring?

  • Comfortable clothing and a light raincoat if it is raining
  • Flat shoes that you can walk in. Does not have to be walking shoes.
  • We supply filtered water so recommend bringing your own water bottle for refills
  • We supply morning tea and lunch. You are welcome to bring additional snacks and drinks. Please ensure you leave no rubbish behind
  • Your camera! Plenty of great photo opportunities
  • Cash for ice cream and additional drinks

How long are the walks? Are they easy?

The walks are not suited to persons with limited mobility. Our walks are not fast paced but are at a slower pace whilst we stop/start as the guide points out interesting things in the forest. The walks are from 650m to 1.2km, on maintained boardwalks or pathways and take between 20-45 minutes.

There are stairs on some walks and some inclines/declines but all walks are graded 1 or 2 which is easy to moderate. However, the 120m track down to the boat cruise is through a mangrove forest where the ground is uneven and narrow in places. Parts of the track are gravel or sand and there is also a small section of boardwalk. At times, you will need to step over mangrove roots. There are no railings for support on the track. You need to be mobile and steady on your feet.

There is a sandy area at the end of the track where you board the cruise vessel via a short, steep ramp with a railing. Flat, enclosed, comfortable walking shoes are recommended. You can opt out of the walks and either remain at the picnic tables or in the vehicle depending on the site.

What if it rains?

Daintree Rainforest in the rain is a great way to experience the rainforest in its element. We supply umbrellas but welcome to bring your own poncho or light rain jacket.

Can I bring infants or children under 7 years old?

This tour is unavailable for chidren and infants under the age of 7 unless you arrange a Private Charter Tour to tailor make the day. It is a big day in a vehicle and in the rainforest so they may get restless nor will understand the in depth commentary from the guide.

Is the tour wheelchair accessible?

No, unfortunately. Access is difficult to toilets, boarding and disembarking the boat cruise, some walks and into our vehicle. Please contact us for more information.

What time will I return?

7.20 tour returns approx 4.30pm
8.20 returns approx 5.15pm

Will I definitely see a Cassowary?

All tours do not guarantee seeing Cassowary’s as they are an endangered species. However, our guides will do the utmost to spot wildlife and using their experience they do their best to point out all wildlife.
